How to rent a Brick powerbank: three ways to start

You can rent a Brick powerbank with the Brick app, on the web, or by tapping your card at the station's card reader. Step-by-step for each method.

There are three ways to rent a Brick powerbank. Use whichever is easiest for you.


Option 1: The Brick app

  1. Download the Brick app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

  2. Open the app, register your account, and add a payment method.

  3. Scan the QR code on the station, or tap "Rent" in the app while next to a station.

  4. A powerbank will release from the station. Take it.

  5. Press the button on the side of the powerbank to start it. The lights will come on and you can plug your phone in.


Option 2: Web (no app needed)

  1. Scan the QR code on the station with your phone's camera.

  2. Your browser opens the Brick web rental page.

  3. Enter your email and card details, then confirm the rental.

  4. A powerbank will release from the station. Take it.

  5. Press the button on the side of the powerbank to start it.

Receipts for web rentals are sent to the email you entered.


Option 3: Tap your card at the station (POS)

Some Brick stations have a built-in card reader. If yours does:

  1. Hold your contactless card or phone (Apple Pay / Google Pay) against the reader on the station.

  2. A powerbank will release from the station. Take it.

  3. Press the button on the side of the powerbank to start it.

If you want a receipt for a POS rental, you can enter your email at the station screen when prompted, and it will be emailed to you.


How to return your powerbank

Insert the powerbank into any empty slot at any Brick station, you don't have to use the one you rented from. Make sure it goes in fully, in the correct orientation (sensor side facing the back of the slot). The slot light will change to confirm the return, and your rental will end automatically.

You can return within 2 days of starting the rental.
