My powerbank isn't charging my phone: what to do

Steps to fix a powerbank that isn't charging, including pressing the button to activate it, checking the cable, and swapping for another unit.

If you've rented a Brick powerbank and your phone isn't charging, try these steps in order. Most issues are solved within a minute.

1. Press the button on the powerbank

Some powerbanks need to be woken up before they start charging. Press the small button on the side of the powerbank once. The indicator lights should light up. Your phone should begin charging within a few seconds.

2. Check that the cable matches your phone

Each Brick powerbank comes with built-in cables for the most common phones. Make sure you're using the cable that fits your phone (USB-C for most Android phones and newer iPhones; Lightning for older iPhones).

3. Try a different powerbank

If the powerbank still won't charge, return it to any slot in the station and start a new rental with a different powerbank. If you return your first powerbank within 5 minutes of starting the rental, you won't be charged for it.

4. Still not working? Contact support

If you've tried the above and your phone still isn't charging, reach out to us through the chat in the Brick app or email support@brick.tech. Include the station location and the time of your rental so we can find the right unit and refund you if appropriate.
