How to connect to a 48- or 24-slot station

Updated over a week ago

This article reviews the steps to setup a large 24- or 48-slot station (stations with displays).

First, power on the station, insuring that the station turns on (there is a switch next to the power cable on the back of the station).

Open the back panel with a universal electrician's key. These are usually included with the shipment, or in your welcome kit.

In the diagram below, you can see where the SIM cards are placed with their GSM modules. There is typically one GSM module for each set of 24 slots (meaning a 48-slot station will have two GSM modules and two SIM cards).

Connect a computer mouse via the USB port in the station. A wireless mouse can be used if you can connect it with a USB connector. The USB port in the station is in the top half, connected to the display on 24-slot stations; in the 48-slot stations, the connector is at the bottom (see image for location)

After you've connected the mouse:

  1. Right-click the mouse to open up the Terminal Setting

  2. Go to System Settings

  3. Go to Settings

  4. Connect to a WiFi network, entering in the network password. Server IP will turn green and confirm that the station is connected.

If the station hasn’t been registered in XDS, send Brick a picture of the screen with the registration number displayed, leave the station powered on overnight and connected to WiFi while the station is registered (please note, this process can take some time as we work with our partners in China to complete this step).

After the station is registered with the Terminal number in XDS, the station can be controlled remotely through XDS. The screen will display that the 'software registration' is 'authorized' and turn green.

Your station is now registered. Send the Station ID (on the QR code) to Brick and we will register the station to your market.

Please note that the displays are running on WiFi, the powerbank slots are run on a cellular connection. You cannot run the powerbank rental process on WiFi, you must have a cellular connection. When the station is connected to WiFi you can manage the display with the XDS software (search for XDS in Help Center or with the Intercom chatbot for more details).
